HOW DOES TOTAL SUMMER BODY WORK?

Total Summer Body coaching plans run for 12 weeks! We have clients located all over the world. This is a program where you complete your daily tasks on your own time, in your own place, and report back to your trainer! So if you are a busy body, then this is the perfect program for you!

CAN I DO THIS FROM HOME?

ABSOLUTELY! We work around your schedule, equipment, and experience.

WHAT TYPES OF HOME FITNESS EQUIPMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND?

If you have absolutely no equipment, then a great start is resistance bands. We highly recommend buying LOOP resistance bands (Great brands: LetsFit, Perfect Peach Athletics). There are quite a few options on Amazon for around $10. If you end up liking resistance bands and want to invest in some higher quality ones, buy the looped fabric bands (Great brands: Perfect Peach Athletics, GYMB).
If you are looking for something more, Power Blocks or other adjustable dumbbells are a great way to add even more resistance. 
If you want to build a home gym and really invest, it will be absolutely worth it to buy a rack set up for squats and bench press, barbell, plates, and a bench. 
If you are just getting started, resistance bands are all you need!

HOW DO I GET THE BEST RESULTS?

The BEST way to get the results you want is to have access to heavy weights either at home or at a gym. Most people do not have a lot of heavy weights at home, so they will go to a gym, because they do not want to invest in a home gym. 


HOWEVER, it is possible to still get great results using only resistance bands and working out from home, it will just require a little bit more emphasis on the nutrition portion and may take a bit longer. We will make anything work as long as YOU are willing to work! 

If you are trying to get shredded or lose a lot of weight, you need to sign up for nutrition coaching! You can exercise with heavy weights all day and not see any progress if your nutrition is a little off. 


If you are new, it is BEST to start with the PLATINUM plan. It is absolutely worth the money, (it's actually one of the cheapest on the market. You're welcome ;). You need a progressive routine to help you build the strength to get up to those compound workouts. You can still get results with a different type of plan or with lighter resistance workouts, the results will just take more time, which is totally okay! :) 

Another way to get the best results is to be consistent and communicate with your trainer! We have basically every tool you will need to be successful and we want to help you. You are paying for direct access, so use it! 

WHICH PLAN IS RIGHT FOR ME?

PLATINUM: This is our all-inclusive plan! This option has absolutely everything you need. This is great for you if you want to lose 15+ pounds, are getting back into fitness after a couple years without it, or if you prefer a lot of hands-on work with your coach through 1-on-1 meetings. 

BASIC: This plan is perfect for someone who is experienced in weightlifting, needs a professional workout routine, accountability and motivation. They do not want nutrition help. They are trying to continue developing great fitness habits.

FITFAM: This plan is recommended for those who have completed one or more seasons of Total Summer Body. These people are only looking for accountability & motivation.  

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HAVE ONLINE ACCESS TO A PERSONAL TRAINER?

Your routine will be professionally written with hyperlinks for each exercise to the video explaining proper form. You also can call/text anytime during office hours to have your questions answered and send videos to your trainer so your form can be corrected! This really sets Total Summer Body apart from other programs because most trainers do not give out their direct contact info!

WHAT IS A 1-WEEK CUSTOMIZABLE REPEATABLE WORKOUT ROUTINE?

A 1-Week Repeatable Workout Routine (Home Only/Gym Only/Hybrid) has exercise options for all of your muscle groups along with cardio planned out for one week according to your schedule, equipment and goals. 
This will come with more than 1 option for most of your workout days to change up your routine throughout the 12 weeks while still working all of your muscle groups. This is also an editable routine.
To make it custom to each of our members, we provide a descriptive assessment asking about your health history, exercise history, current and previous injuries, program design preferences, availability, goals, and equipment. We can also help you progress to bigger lifts by including flags like "Start at Week 5" or "Start Whenever You're Ready" workout option.
This is also an editable routine. If something is not working, we change it! :)

WHAT IS NUTRITION COACHING?

Your trainer is certified as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist with the American Council on Exercise. She will be able to give you coaching over general information from the USDA and ChooseMyPlate.gov regarding nutrition including but not limited to understanding calories, macros, which foods have higher protein and less fat that you could choose whether or not to incorporate them in your diet, share recipes with you that have high protein, answer questions about whether or not to eat carbs, how much fat is recommended to eat, which types of fat to eat, etc. Your trainer cannot write meal plans, prescribe specific foods, prescribe meal plans, or give extremely individualized and specific advice. Your trainer has experience working with many individuals who have the following dietary restrictions/precautions including but not limited to gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, lactose-free, breast-feeding moms, expecting mothers, etc. However, if you are looking for specific and individualized help with specific meal plans prescribed just for you, you need to consult a registered dietician. Nutrition coaching will happen as you use the resources provided to you from the drive and when you sign up to meet with your trainer 1-on-1 over Zoom to ask questions and seek guidance! This is only available with our PLATINUM plan! For example, you can send your nutrition coach a screenshot of everything you ate that day and ask for ways to help lower fat intake. Your coach will then send you a couple of general alternative items that are lower in fat you can choose to use as a replacement. With nutrition coaching, you are also invited to webinars regarding nutrition and understanding more background that can help you for life. We provide an example of a meal plan; however, we do not prescribe meal plans.

WHAT IS A PROGRESS REPORT?

Using a Progress Report in your plan allows you and your trainer to track your progress. On the report, you will set a 12-week long term goal, weekly goals and plans, track your weight, measurements, body fat percentage, consistency, reflect on goals and plans of last week, and write about your week.

Every four weeks, we put your pictures side by side and give you an overall update on your progress. 

WHAT MAKES TOTAL SUMMER BODY DIFFERENT THAN OTHER EXERCISE PROGRAMS?

Total Summer Body is one of the few programs out there that gives you direct access to your fitness trainer. We start with where you are at and help you take the next steps towards real, lifelong change. The biggest component that makes your lifestyle change successful is communication! Be sure to fill out your progress reports, respond to your trainer, and participate in your group. 

Like most training programs, we give you a workout routine and help you calculate your calories and macros, give you demonstration videos and recipes.

Unlike most training programs, your routine is one of a kind (we customize each one), we focus on lifestyle by teaching our members how to set goals, the why/how of fitness and nutrition, and we coach you to become self-reliant, so that you can have the confidence to continue on your own.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM AN IN PERSON TRAINER?

The only differences between us and an in person trainer is that your trainer is in person standing next to you (hopefully) during all of your workouts and they charge $50/hour or more per session. We strive to provide all services that an in person trainer would provide and so much more at a significantly lower cost. If you sign up for online access to a personal trainer with one of our plans, you will be able to video chat your trainer live during office hours or send videos of your form for help with correction. We also include a variety of other resources and services in each of our plans including but not limited to workout routines for each day you want to exercise, nutrition help, video demonstrations, accountability, motivation, progress monitoring, etc. If you are someone who wants a professional coach, but does not want to pay an expensive price, online coaching is right for you!

HOW DO YOU WORK WITH MEDICAL OBSTACLES?

Our job is to help people adopt healthy fitness and nutrition habits and everyone has a different path! 
We have experience working with pregnant, post-partum, breastfeeding women, clients with PCOS, thyroid disorders, weightloss surgeries (including but not limited to gastric bypass and sleeve surgeries, tummy tucks, etc), celiac disease, vegetarians, vegans, lactose-intolerant, previous injuries (including but not limited to knee, back, spine, neck, etc), heart disease, diabetes, and so much more.
